Here’s a Preview of the Startups Pitching in the Medical Device Track at MedCity INVEST

As we gear up for MedCity INVEST, May 22-24, at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago, we turn our attention to the Pitch Perfect startup contest, which takes center stage at this conference. Startups in the medical device track reflect a diverse selection of companies spanning cardiac monitoring, trauma care, and screening newborns for disease.

The medical device track will take place on Monday, May 22, from 3:55 pm to 5:10 pm CT

Each track of the competition will enable startups to present their companies and then a team of investor judges will ask questions based on the presentation.

Prana Thoracic is a medtech business dedicated to developing solutions for early intervention in lung cancer. It seeks to revolutionize the early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer by making it easier and less invasive to deal with the rapidly growing number of early suspicious lung nodules.

NeoPrediX develops smart algorithms that predict the progression of certain maternal and newborn disease parameters into the future.

VenoVision develops non-invasive cardiac imaging tech and monitoring to reduce ICU admissions and hospitalizations for millions of heart failure and at-risk patients.

CEO: Bryan Stewart

HDO Health is a medtech company that’s produced a novel, class II, non-sterile, non-invasive, single-use device designed to stop junctional bleeding quickly. The device is designed for combat and trauma environments. It has an intuitive design, requiring little-to-no training by a novice user. The device is durable, and pre-assembled as a single device with a compact design optimized for quick deployment in harsh operating conditions. It allows direct pressure on the wound while remaining in place during patient transport.

Deliberate AI focuses on data-driven multimodal assessments
of psychiatric and neurological health. Its products use machine learning and audio-visual signals to generate clinical outcome assessments for depression and anxiety.

Cast21 is an orthopedics company that’s developed a waterproof alternative to a cast or brace for bone and joint care. It can be applied and removed without heat, water, or specialized equipment.
